Please complete the following survey to register a team for the 2022-23 UK CanSat Competition.

Each CanSat team should be made up of 4-6 students. Multiple teams can be registered from a school/college. Please complete this form once for each team that you would like to register. 

The UK branch of the European Space Education Resources Office (ESERO-UK) organises the UK CanSat Competition. Before submission, please ensure that you have carefully read the competition guidelines, available at

The deadline for submission of this form is 01 October 2022.

Please be aware teacher CPD for the competition will be held in September and October 2022. 

Applicants will receive an invitation by to attend teacher training for the competition held in September/October 2022.

This privacy notice explains how we use any personal information we collect about you when you complete this expression of interest survey.

What information we need

In order to process your data to enable us to log your registration for CanSat we need:

• your name and email address,

• your school name and address

• annonomous details about your team (if known at this time, this can be provided at a later date)

Why we need it

We need to know this data in order to:

• process your registration

• evaluate the reach of the project

• provide further support through the STEM Ambassador Programme

We will only collect personal data required to provide and oversee this service to you. You will not automatically receive marketing emails about other STEM Learning educational products and services, if you would like to receive these please sign up on our website.

What we do with it

Your personal data will be shared with those involved in running the CanSat programme at STEM Learning/ESERO-UK and your local STEM Ambassador Hub.

We have systems in place to ensure secure processing of your personal data by ourselves and anyone whom it is shared with. All the personal data we process is done so by our staff in the UK however information may be hosted in the US.

How long we keep it

If your place on CanSat is confirmed, we will retain the information that you provide us for 2 years at which time it will be destroyed. If you decide not to go ahead with the CanSat project, your information will be destroyed after 6 months.

What your rights are

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please email or write to us. We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.
